Job Description:
Shriners Children s Salt Lake City is seeking a visionary leader
with experience in program development to fill the role of Medical
Director of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery. We are looking for a
candidate with leadership experience and a growth mindset, who is
passionate about advancing pediatric orthopedic care. Experience
with a broad range of pediatric orthopedic conditions, with a
special interest in neuromuscular conditions is required. The
successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing a diverse
caseload of pediatric orthopedic patients and driving innovative
initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes. Additionally,
this physician will lead our transition to a new clinical location
and will need to coordinate closely with our academic partner, the
University of Utah, and our clinical partner, Intermountain
Health/Primary Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities:
Provide superb clinical and operative care to our patients,
ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Provide clinical, educational, and research leadership for our
physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), guiding them in
delivering exceptional patient care, fostering professional growth,
and advancing the field through research.
Serve as the Medical Director of the Gait Lab, overseeing
specialized diagnostic and treatment services.
Educate medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures,
workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
Engage in research activities to contribute to advancements in
pediatric orthopedics and publish findings in reputable
journals.
Participate in regional outreach programs, community initiatives,
and represent the facility at professional conferences and
events.
Foster collaborative relationships with Primary Children s
Hospital, Intermountain Health, and the University of Utah to
enhance patient care and research efforts, particularly during the
transition to a new clinical location.
Represent the medical staff to our local Board of Governors, local
Shriners administration, Shriners Medical Group, and the Department
of Orthopedics of the University of Utah.

Qualifications:
Completion of a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery fellowship
program.
At least eight years post-fellowship experience required.
Preferred national reputation in the field.
Extensive experience in neuromuscular conditions.
Board certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
(ABOS).
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and
stakeholders, exhibiting strong interpersonal skills and
collaborative leadership capabilities.
Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Utah.
A positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues and patients
is essential.
