Job Title: Seafood Order WriterWhole Foods Market - Wellington is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Seafood Order Writer to join our team!About the Role:We are looking for an individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and has a strong understanding of seafood products. As a Seafood Order Writer, you will be responsible for replenishing products, ordering seafood products, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.Key Responsibilities:

• Replenish products through proper buying procedures to ensure optimal inventory levels.
• Order seafood products and manage back stock levels to meet customer demands.
• Monitor and act upon open PO reports for purchases and credits to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory management.
• Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate orders for products to monitor inventory turns and meet customer expectations.
• Oversee customer special order procedures to ensure seamless customer experiences.
• Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage to minimize losses and maximize profitability.
• Support leadership in conducting inventories and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
• Separate, scan, and dispose of spoilage and shrink to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Arrive to work station on time, groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products.
  • Working knowledge and application of all seafood merchandising expectations.
  • Ability to educate team on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals.Desired Qualifications:
    • 12+ months retail experience.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
      • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
      • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
      • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
      • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
      • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
      • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
      • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
